Your #1 Song…

Published by bronih under Just talking

Well this is fun!  I saw this on Val’s blog and had to try it out!

The #1 song on the day I was born was “Too Young” by Nat King Cole.

Now I know most of you don’t even know who he is, but he has a daughter named Natalie.  Still don’t know who that is?  Then you are just much too young to even be reading this blog!!!

Go check it out and let me know what your #1 song is!

And thanks for the link, Val!

A new week!

Published by bronih under Family, Just talking

Hi everyone! I’m back from the beach! It was a wonderful relaxing time, but not without some craziness mixed in! I went with my daughter and 2 grandsons, so you know we didn’t just sit on the beach soaking up the rays and relaxing the whole time! We built drip sand castles, rode the waves on boogie boards, and watched the lifeguard pull in several people who weren’t paying attention and got carried out too far by the riptides. The riptides were unusually strong because of the low pressure system off the coast which has now become a tropical storm.

We also played MagiQuest! Have you heard of it? You purchase a “magic” wand and are given several different quests to complete within a certain time span. Your wand unlocks secrets and allows you to gather treasures to aid you along the way. There were people of all ages playing. It was really cool! There were castles, gargoyles, fairies, unicorns, musical trees and even wizards! Here’s Hunter with his wand, waiting to enter the chamber to play.

And here are some more random images of the week. Check out Hunter’s back flip on the bungee cord jump and my “Shark’s Bite” beverage!

Thanks for visiting today and allowing me to share my vacation with you! I’ll be back on Wednesday for the Color Throwdown challenge. It’s my week to host it!

It’s been a busy week…and some news!

Hi everyone! It’s really been a crazy, busy week for me. A lot of people are sick or out on vacation at work, so guess who’s picking up the slack?! That’s right…me!

Thursday night my younger daughter Jen was a principal in a ballet production in Charlotte, NC. She’s been ‘en Pointe’ since she was 7 years old and has been in multiple performances, but this was her first in several years, and her first since becoming a mom. She was nervous and worked so hard rehearsing, spending many hours away from her family. Her performance was wonderful! Even Miles, her son who is 21 months old, sat still on my lap and watched her portion of the ballet. I think that’s quite a feat!

Here are a couple of the photos we took. The lighting was strange and of course you can’t use a flash in the theatre.

Ok, so that’s maybe more than a couple, but I couldn’t decide which ones to show you!

Here’s a simple way to do it from across a room or as you are passing by.

Someone came to visit….

Published by bronih under Home & Garden, Just talking

 Cardinal

This little guy visits me every day.  He sits in my scarlet willow tree just outside my bedroom window.  I love the way he looks all fluffed up!

This photo was taken on Easter Monday.  The willow is now mostly covered with its tiny green leaves.

Blog Brilliance 1

Published by bronih under Blog Brilliance, Just talking

Once in a while I plan on linking posts from other blogs that I think would be of great interest to others. They will be posts that made me slap my forehead and say “Wow! Why didn’t I think of that??!” In other words, blog posts that show their author’s brilliance!

Here are the links I’ve chosen to use as my first examples of BLOG BRILLIANCE:

1) Janine Tinklenberg - Stamps, Paper, Scissors
The Carousel Notes Purse Book Tutorial
Oh so GOJUS and brilliant!

*IF YOU USE Jan’s photos and/or tutorial, PLEASE be sure to ask her permission and for heaven’s sakes, give her credit! (That would go for everyone, not just Jan!)

2) Diane Zechman - Paper Cookies
Peppermint Patty Bunnies
Are you kidding me?? How cool and uber-cute are these!??!!

3) Lauren Bergold - All the Good Blog Names Were Taken

Photo Mosaic Tutorial
Oh My Gosh!!!! Forget the dang tutorial (which is really great), I just want to sit and stare at her subject!!!!!!!!!

**********************************************************************

That’s it for the very 1st edition of Blog Brilliance. Let me know what you think and if you’d like more!

Thanks for dropping by!
