More Halloween…before it’s too late!

Cutie Pie Halloween crop

I’m just finishing up my Halloween cards.  Good thing too, because some of them have to go to Virginia and some to Florida.  They’re all going in the mail today!

These first 2 cards are for the 2 youngest granddaughters - ages 15 months and 6 months.  The 6 month old is dressing up as a ladybug, so this Pink Cat Studio digi stamp Itty Bitty Betty - Ladybug Costume is just perfect!!  I know red is not your usual Halloween color, but it’s certainly appropriate here.

Cutie Pie Halloween

How about those gorgeous tissue paper flowers??  (You really have to click on the photo to make it larger so you can get the full effect of how pretty they are.)  Mona Pendleton did a fantastic video on how to make them.  You’ll find it HERE on the JUGS challenge blog, because that’s this week’s challenge - to make something with one of Mona’s flowers on it.

I followed Mona’s instructions, but used the Dahlia Nestabilities because I don’t have the Blossom ones.  My white tissue paper was brayered with real red ink.  I may not have let the brayered tissue paper dry long enough because when I took the eight layers out of the die, they were kind of melded together and I had to take my piercing tool and carefully separate the layers. I did try it again later with precolored pink tissue paper and did not have the same problem.  Another time saving hint: instead of cutting 8 squares for each size die, I just folded my tissue paper until there were 8 layers.  Much easier!!

Now here’s the last of my Halloween creations.  It uses the MOJO109 layout and the Rubbernecker Stamps Halloween Set 2 cute little “Witchie Poo”.  Don’t you just love the Skull Trick or Treat paper from Fancy Pants?

All 3 of these cards qualify for entry to the Copic Creations challenge #14.  Check it out!

Thanks for visiting me today!  See you soon!

Creeping By - a Mummy boy

Creeping By Mummy Boy crop

This is another card I created using the 2S4U sketch for last week.  This time I used a little Mummy boy and sentiment from the Rubbernecker Halloween Set 2 (474).  I just love this little guy’s whopsided eyes!  I tried to make the 3 circles look a little like eyeballs, but didn’t do so great on that!

Creeping By Mummy Boy

Thanks for stopping by to take a look!  I hope to have another Rubbernecker card for you tomorrow using the new Fall Trilogy set.

In order to accommodate the variety of images, I’ve chosen 4 colors to work with this week.  You don’t have to use all 4, but at least 3 would be great.  That’s what I used.

Kisa’s CTD62

Here’s my cute little Bat Billy:

Stampers United - a very Special Blog Hop!

***Thank you for participating!  This blog hop is now closed.

Sparkly Witch crop

Hello and welcome to my blog.  A group of us got together and thought it would be fun to introduce you to different stampers, their styles and blogs.  Perhaps you’ll find an new artist that you would like to visit again!  We are called Stampers United and today we are having a Blog Hop!  Not only will you hopefully be able to visit some new and exciting blogs, but there are prizes for you to win along the way, with a hugely fantastic Grand Prize at the end!

Stampers United badge

In order to have a chance at winning the Grand Prize, you must gather a phrase along the Blog Hop.  Each stamper will have a particular word listed on their blog and as long as you visit them in order, you will have the phrase at the end. Claudia Rosa will pick the Grand Prize winner and make the announcement Monday on her blog.  If that person knows the complete correct phrase, they’ve won!  If not, Claudia will pick another until she finds a winner.  Don’t you hope it’s you?

To start off, you must begin at the Stampers United Blog!  If you have arrived at my blog from there,  then you are on the correct course.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today I’ve chosen to show you a “girly” Halloween card.  Just look at all the glitter and that sweet little witch!  She’s stamped on Neenah cardstock with Memento ink and colored with Copic markers, then highlighted with Prismacolor pencils.  Of course I added some Stickles on her outfit to go with all the glittery papers and spiders!  (Yes, the spiders are glittery.  It’s just hard to tell in the photo.)  The sentiment was stamped directly on the patterned paper and coated with a layer of the new Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint.
My word in the blog phrase is THANKS, and your next word can be found at Carole’s blog - Stardust Gems and Ribbons
We hope you are enjoying this special Blog Hop and that you are finding something new and exciting along the way.  Thanks for joining us today!  And a huge thank you to all the wonderful sponsors of today’s Blog Hop.
I used Beate’s sketch WSC96 for this Pippi card.
I couldn’t make just one card!  So I made 2!  Hey, it’s a great start when you have 4 grandkids and 3 step-grandkids to make cards for!!
I think this little Mummy Trevor is my favorite!
(you can click on the images to see them larger)
He could almost pass for my 6 year old grandson who just broke his ankle on Sunday riding a go-cart.  His leg is in a cast and he also has 8 stitches in his chin and no front teeth.  (Luckily they were baby teeth and were ready to fall out anyway.)  Needless to say, I am NOT a fan of go-carts.
It would be great if you would play along with us!  I always enjoy seeing how you use the colors!  There are really some fantastic artists who link up each week!   Check out all the details at the Color Throwdown blog and then click on over to the designers’ blogs for more inspiration:
Color Throwdown #17
Mod Hey Pumpkin crop
We have a spooky Color Throwdown color challenge for you today! Kisa asked us to use orange, black, and green (with purple being an optional color) to make a Halloween themed card.
CTD17
I’ve made so many Halloween cards already this year, so I wanted to go with one that wasn’t too scary and was kind of funky….One I could send to a small child or an adult. This is what I came up with:
Mod Hey Pumpkin
I pulled out some Halloween stamps from last year - the pumpkin is from a Memory Box clear stamp set and the sentiment is one of those $1.00 Studio G stamps from Michael’s. I used the Grid Paper backgrounder from Cornish Heritage Farms on the kiwi kiss cardstock.
Check out what the other designers have come up with:
And please play along with us! The keyword is CTD17 and you can post a direct link to your card with your comment on today’s Color Throwdown blog post.
I thought I’d throw this in here too, since it also fits the criteria for today’s challenge. It’s a Halloween bag that I made for my 2 year old grandson.
Frankie bag
Thanks for coming by! Find time to play today!!!
Google Spooks - Dirty Girls Challenge
Google Spooks 2 crop
It’s the 20th of the month again! And each month at this time the Dirty Dozen - present and alumni - reveal the cards or projects they’ve created for the challenge that has been issued. This month Emily (WaterPixie) asked us to create a Halloween card, with google eyes, but with no pumpkins. Oooooh, spooky!!
I searched through all my images trying to find one that could have the google eyes added to it, and couldn’t find any that really worked - either the eyes were too big for the image or they made the spook in the image look ridiculous! Such was the case with this cute little vampire. He just wasn’t so cute anymore when I added the google eyes. Then I got the idea that he should be trick-or-treating and the google spooks should be behind him in the dark! How do you think it worked out?
Google Spooks 2 DCST1008
The “wall” is popped up away from the front steps. The doorframe was made using 2 long rectangle Nestabilities to cut and emboss the brown DP. Then I just added a little shading and the mitered corners. The sentiment was stamped and embossed on the ribbon tag.
So what do you think of my little google spooks?
Thanks for the challenge, Emily!
You can check out all the other Dirty Girls’ designs here: DCST1008
Thanks for visiting with me today. I hope you’ll stop back by tomorrow when I’ll have another 2 For You Tuesday!
Today’s card is a stair-step fold card for yesterdays Technique Lovers Challenge at Splitcoast. What a fun card to make!
Corny Stair Step
I started with a black base and added all my cute little Rubbernecker Halloween images. The candy corns and ghost were colored with Copic markers. The moon is a circle of yoyo yellow (which I NEVER use!), sponged around the edges with Ranger Distress tea dye ink. Both the bat and the spider were stamped with Versamark and Versafine onyx black ink, then heat embossed with black detail EP. Their eyes were colored in with a yellow glaze pen. The ghost, bat, spider and one of the candy corns are all popped up on foam mounting tape. I think I’m keeping this one to put on my desk at work!
JACKSONBELLE EMBELLISHMENTS - JBE024
~~~

Woodland Fairy crop

Our challenge today for the Jacksonbelle Embellishments design team was to create a 4 layer or less card. I’m not usually one to pile the layers on my cards, but just 4 layers?? That was indeed a challenge!

Smiley from millan.net

I’ve had the Inkadinkado Beautiful Fairies stamp set for a few days (ok, weeks!) and I’ve been dying to ink them up. So here’s my first card with them. And pat me on the back..I didn’t use a single Copic marker on this card! It was really hard not to, but I did it! I colored my Woodland Fairy with Prismacolor pencils. And of course all the shimmer is from Shimmerz.

Woodland Fairy

There are only 3 layers actually. The base of PTI Spring Moss cardstock, my DP (Prima Urban Cosmo collection), and my fairy. The flowers (except for the die cut one with the rub-on sentiment) came with the Urban Cosmo collection.

Be sure to check out all the awesome creations of the design team:

So ends another edition of 2 For You Tuesday! Thanks so much for coming by. Tomorrow is another Rubbernecker Blogger challenge and the Color Throwdown challenge of the week, so be sure to stop back by then!
