Now for my color challenge card which also is a SNEAK PEEK of the new line of stamps that Rubbernecker will be carrying beginning tomorrow, April 1st! And this is NO April Fool’s Day joke!

These stamps are KK Originals stamps. You’ve heard of them, right? (Deets here.) You won’t believe how beautiful and diverse the images are! I LOVE them!! I used Dragonfly Bubble Dance and Dance Text on this card:

Dragonfly Dance

I had so much fun coloring this card with my Copic markers. I actually stamped the image twice, colored one of the images completely and then just colored the dragonfly and the leaves on the second image. These were cut out and I used my craft knife to cut part way along the line between the top and bottom dragonfly wings and between the leaves. I place tiny pieces of mounting tape under portions of the top wings and some of the leaves to lift these from the rest of the image. It has so much dimension in real life! Here’s a thumbnail of a close up picture. You can click on it to see it bigger.

Dragonfly Dance up close

On this second layer of the dragonfly, after I colored it with the Copic markers, I coated it with my Versamark pen and then applied some interference violet Pearl-Ex with a soft dry paint brush. The shimmer is awesome!

Thanks for stopping to read my blog today! Be sure to come back tomorrow when I’ll have another card made with new KK Originals stamps and links for the Tuesday Rubbernecker Treasure Hunt!

Hey There Cupcake - Featured Stamper FS59

Cherry Shake crop

The Featured Stamper challenge FS59 on Splitcoaststampers today showcases the artistry of Amy Sheffer, better known as PickleTree on SCS. This comes as NO surprise to me, as I have been stalking Amy’s gallery and blog for months now! The hardest thing today was choosing from all her wonderful designs. I finally chose her precious Nursery Necessities card, which she says uses Julee T’s Mojo Monday sketch from week 20. So I have to thank both of these talented ladies for their creative influences! This card also fits Sharon’s Simply Saturday challenge ssnotime27, which is to use rounded corners. Thanks, Sharon!

Hey There Cupcake

I kept the layout that Amy used, the use of the ribbon and the general “sweet” feel of the card. I changed the stamp set and the colors.

I decided to use my new Hey There Cupcake set, which is exclusive to Eclectic Paperie and is so much fun to play with! I paired it with the Papertrey Ink Aqua Mist paper and ribbon and with the new Basic Grey Two Scoops 6×6 paper pad to come up with this totally yummy birthday card. I also used my new Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder. Love it too!!

Each piece of the cupcake, except the candle, is paper pieced onto the white embossed retangle. I used my craft knife to cut the slits for the ribbon to slide through and I dotted all the scallops with liquid pearls.

Hey, I just noticed that this card matches my blog banner pretty closely! Neat!

Thanks for visiting today! I trust you all are having a most wonderful Easter Sunday!

Be sure to come back tomorrow for a sample of Jeanne’s new Rubbernecker color challenge!

Thanks…..Broni

My card today uses images from the Rubbernecker Sweets section, so it seemed appropriate to also use Basic Grey Two Scoops paper. Even though there are actually 3 scoops in the banana split!

Happy Cherry Birthday

After browsing through BeckyTE’s gallery I decided to case this precious card of hers: Leaping Lop. Becky is this week’s Featured Stamper (FS58) on Splitcoaststampers.

I kept her layout and the use of patterned papers and spring colors. I didn’t use the paper piecing technique for the main image, even though that was one of my favorite things about her card.

The papers were sewn using 2 different stitches. It’s hard to see since I used white thread on light colored papers, but if you look closely at the upper left had corner you may be able to make it out. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to place the sentiment on 3 different lines instead of 1. It’s stamped in Ranger Distress Walnut Stain ink.

The images were stamped in Brilliance Graphite Black on shimmery vanilla (what else?), colored with Copic markers, and cut out.

I used 3 different ribbons on the card, one of which is the light pink rickrack from the Martha Stewart craft line. It’s just stiff enough so that I was able to curl the ends just a little.

The banana split is popped up on mounting tape as is the center cherry at the bottom. The other 2 are attached with glue dots.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day! And Happy Hunting!!!
