I just love fairy tales! So I was thrilled when I found out I would get to use Fairy Dust is a Must for the Our Craft Lounge blog hop. These little darlings are so cute, aren’t they?!
~

~
I went for a rustic, woodsy feel for my card today. But I can’t wait to try this out with a sweet & glittery feminine theme too.

Sadly, I have decided to step down from the Rubbernecker Stamps design team. I’ve been with them for 3 years and it was time for me to move on and grow in another direction. I will sorely miss Dave, Pat and all the wonderful, special ladies on the design team. They’ve been my family for 3 years and will continue to be some of my closest friends. I love them all!
********************************

The fun announcement?? I’ve been invited to be on the Our Craft Lounge design team!! Of course, it took only a few seconds to say yes! It’s been a dream of mine to be able to work (play) with all of the super-talented ladies already on the team and I love all of their fun and playful stamp sets! But most of all, I really, really love Cambria and Joy and couldn’t wait to work (play) with them!

So thanks for inviting me ladies, and I can’t wait to get into the swing of things with you all!
To start things off, I’ve made my first card. Well, I’ve made several when I previously participated in the OCL blog hops for new releases but this is my first card as a DT member! (Yippee!)
~

I used the For the Love of Birds stamp set for this card. The images are so delicate and beautiful. I immediately thought to pair this love bird image with the Spellbinders eyelet pendant die and add the new Martha Stewart double loops border punch to the mix. Great match, don’t ya think? Some vintage cream satin ribbon, half-back pearl stickers, and some Cosmo Cricket Earth Love paper complete the package!
Thanks so much for visiting me on this beautiful Sunday! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

This week’s Angels Landing challenge for the design team was to use sewing (real or faux.) I chose to use my sewing machine…I certainly need the practice! But I got so carried away coloring the image and matching the patterned paper that I almost forgot to use sewing at all!
This is my newest favorite holiday color combo - red, aqua and brown. Bright and happy, yet warm and yummy !

I used several brown Copic markers to make the frame have a woodgrain look. The smaller brown layer and the aqua layer are dry embossed and the sewing actually attaches the Cosmo Cricket Jolly by Golly patterned paper to the larger brown layer.
All the berries and ornaments are covered in fired brick Distress stickles.
You can see all the beautiful design team creations by going to the Angels Landing blog.
Thanks for stopping by to check in today!

OH MY GOSH! You won’t believe how wonderful these new images are!!! I’m so totally in love with these precious Emperor penguin chicks. Ok, before I get too carried away, let’s get down to business.
Welcome to the October Angels Landing Blog Hop. If you missed the beginning, head over to Judi’s digi-stamps blog and follow the links. Today the Design Team is introducing two new digital image sets for October, Season’s Tweetings and Penguin Chicks.
I chose to use 2 of the adorable Penguin Chicks for my project.
It’s getting close to Christmas. I know! It seems like we just had it, doesn’t it? Well, I’ve started making each of my daughters a December album each year for them to document the events in their household leading up to Christmas. What better time than now and what better images to use than these chicks?

~
This is very sparkly in real life. Here are a couple of close ups.
If you click on the photo of the chicks, you can see that their coats are all sparkly with snow (Ranger Distress stickles - Rock Candy).

~
To celebrate the new releases, I’m offering some Blog Candy. One lucky winner will receive free download links for his or her choice of any two image sets shown in the Digital Stamps Products section of AngelsLanding.com. To be eligible to win, leave a comment on my Blog Hop post before Sunday October 18, 2009, at 11:00 PM Eastern USA time. I’ll use random.org to pick a winner on Monday October 19. Please remember to check back again then to see whether you’ve won.
Be sure to visit the other designers in today’s Blog Hop, since there are also two more Blog Candy offers. Good luck. Your next stop on today’s Blog Hop is >> LISA COOK <<.

I LOVE these new Rubbernecker Fall Trilogy set images. They’re so beautiful and versatile! I’ve used one of the branches and some yummy Earth Love paper from Cosmo Cricket for my card today.
The branch was stamped directly onto the patterned paper using Versamark and soft suede ink, then clear embossed. I cut it out by tracing around an oval Nestabilities die then hand cutting it. The background layer was cut using a Labels 8 Nestabilties die.

Thanks for visiting!

Oh my goodness! How sweet is this little doll???
I have a funny story to tell you. I created this on Monday evening and was saving it to post today. Well, on Tuesday I visited Sherry’s blog and was astounded at what I found. A card using a Crafty Secrets image of a cute little girl and embellished with a handmade lace flower topped with a button! It’s even a similar layout!!
Now Sherry and I have always claimed to be long-lost sisters…we think alike in so many ways it’s really scary sometimes! But this coincidence just blew me away!! If she had used red along with her aqua and brown, I would have totally freaked out - PIMP style!!! LOL!
Now on to the card…
I made this for the 2 Sketches 4 You challenge this week - Kazan’s Sketch 36. I used a Cotton Scrap from Crafty Secrets and lots of yummy Cosmo Cricket Early Bird 6 x 6 paper. And thanks to Sherry, I now know it qualifies for the Crafty Secrets forum challenge CSSC88 at Splitcoaststampers.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!!

While I had my Gina K stamps out yesterday, I wanted to see if I could come up with a retro look to the scooter from the Are We There Yet? set. I think the colors in this Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday paper definitely have a retro feel.
Speaking of retro and aqua colored vehicles…my all-time favorite dream car has always been a 1955 aqua colored Thunderbird. Sigh. One day. And a cottage…at the beach…on an island…with a couple of cabana boys (one for you, Sherry). Yeah, right! A scooter… maybe!

I used my Labels One Nestabilties die for the 3 overlapping layers, and some ribbon, Prima & Heidi Swapp flowers and a decorative brad for the big girlie embellishment. The headlight and taillight both have glossy accents on them. No doubt, this card is not meant for someone of the masculine persuasion!
Thanks for stopping by to look!
Oh, and don’t forget tonight is the season premier of

Grey’s Anatomy!!!
I’ve got my kleenex and popcorn ready!!
