Cathy has provided us with a beautiful warm color combination this week for the Color Throwdown. It’s just perfect for this time of year…fall and Christmas!

We’re lucky enough to be sponsored by Flourishes this week! We were all so excited to be able to work with their gorgeous stamps! My choice was the Seasonal Wreaths. Just perfect, no matter what time of year it is! Here’s my winter card:

There are 3 layers to the wreath. Each one is trimmed a little differently and attached using foam tape, providing additional dimension and texture. The top layer of the wreath, the edge of the sentiment circle, and all the brown branches are coated with a thin layer of Rock Candy Distress stickles for a beautiful subtle glazed look.

Be sure to check out all the gorgeous DT creations here:

I’ll be back in just a little while with my Angels Landing new release blog hop entry.

This week I’m hosting the Color Throwdown challenge. Simon Says Stamp! is our sponsor and when I received my package from them I was excited to see that there was some beautiful handmade Washi paper included. So that’s what I based my color choices on.

I love the bright colors and they worked so well with this adorable We Are Family Dolls stamp set. I even used a small strip of the Washi paper to create the tiny fan that the Mom is holding. I simply used a fan fold and then tied it together at the bottom with black quilting thread. And how cute is that little puppy??

We’d love for you to join us this week. The colors are fun and you could win a prize or become our next Featured Stamper! You’ll find all the challenge details at the Color Throwdown blog. C’mon over and play with us!
Here are links to the talented designers. Check out their creations!

It’s time for Color Throwdown #67. Tammy is our hostess-with-the-mostess this week and she’s chosen a wonderful color combination. I wasn’t sure it would work for Christmas (I am hot and heavy into creating as many Christmas cards as possible before the rush!), but then I pulled out this Snowed In paper kit from My Mind’s Eye that I got at my LSS (Southern Scrapbooks) last year. I couldn’t use the soft sky with it, but Papertrey’s aqua mist worked perfectly!
Here’s this week’s color combo:

And here’s my card based on Laura’s Sketch 38 from 2 Sketches 4 You.

Be sure to visit the Color Throwdown blog to get all the details on this week’s challenge. You could be our next Featured Stamper!! And please show some love to our super-talented design team:

Would you just look at that precious face?? I just can’t stop looking at it and smiling! This little fella has complete stolen my heart!
He’s one of the adorable Penguin Chicks from Angels Landing. And I chose him to be on my Color Throwdown card this week. The colors that LeAnne presented us with just seemed perfect for a warm woolen hat and scarf.

The blue background layer is covered in sparkly snowflakes as is his snowy fur. The snow on his little sign is liquid pearls with a touch of glitter as well. The sheer, sparkly edged ribbon was heated just enough to crinkle the ends. He’s colored with several different shades of grey markers (and qualifies as an entry to this month’s Copic Creations challenge - coloring black with copics).

We would just love it if you would play along with us!! We don’t have a sponsor this week, but you have a chance at being chosen Featured Stamper of the week!! You can find all the details on the Color Throwdown blog and then there’s so much more inspiration here:

This week’s Color Throwdown is being sponsored by Stamping Bella!! And this is my first Ketto! She’s just so sweet and sassy!!
The colors Danielle has chosen this week are just perfect for highlighting the Bellas:

I’ve used Suzette Ketto and framed her in a split Top Note die cut layer. She’s colored with Prismacolor pencils (blended with Gamsol) and I’ve given her a whopping big layered flower embellishment to go with all her cute little flowers!

Check out that cool double loops border! I was so thrilled to find that my local Michael’s actually had a new Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page set in stock! Grabbed that baby up and ran to the checkout!!
And I used my new Tim Holtz tiny attacher to secure my ribbon loops before attaching it under the flower.
Here are photos of both:

Be sure to check out all the Color Throwdown challenge details at the blog. You have a chance to win a cool prize or even be chosen as our Featured Stamper of the week!

Good morning, people! It’s time for another Color Throwdown challenge! Our hostess this week is the lovely and super-talented Barbara and our sponsor is once again Simon Says Stamps. They’ve generously offered a prize to win if you’d like to participate. You could even become our next Featured Stamper! Check out the Color Throwdown blog for all the details. Here are today’s colors:

Love them! And now on to the card, but first I’d like to state that “no patterned paper was harmed in the making of today’s card”!

The background was made with the Paisley Spellbinders Impressabilities. I laid the Impressabilities on a 4 x 5.25 piece of sahara sand cardstock, then sponged with baja breeze ink. Then I ran the cardstock with the Impressabilities still on top through the Wizard with the embossing pad on top. Love the way it looks!

Here’s a look at the rest of the sentiment, which I stamped inside the card:

Please be sure to check out the design team blogs for some more super inspiration:

Time for another Color Throwdown, y’all! This week we’re being sponsored by Unity Stamps!! Woo hoo! And our lovely hostess Cathy has chosen another set of colors that’s perfect for a fall card. Good thing, because I’m working with the Build a Turkey stamp set…and I took that literally, by the way!
Here are our colors for the week:

So when I received the Build a Turkey set, the first thing that came to mind was that the name of it sounded like a children’s game. So you know what? That’s what I created with it!

This is the front. Looks just like a card, huh? Well, do you see the small brown flap at the very bottom? It wraps around from the back, allowing the card to stand up on it’s own. The stitching is open in the very middle on the top of the brown layer. That’s where you can stick the feathers of your choice in behind the turkey (which is up on foam tape), forming his tail.

And here’s the back. The panel that wraps around to the front is taped along the sides and bottom but left open on top to store extra feathers. I even stamped some more feathers on some white cardstock for when the grandkids come to visit. I know they’ll want to color some feathers themselves to dress the turkey with!
So what do you think? Will the grandkids like it? I sure hope so!
Be sure to visit the Color Throwdown blog to get the details on how you can play along and win some Unity goodness for yourself or even become our next Featured Stamper! Then it’s on to the design team blogs to be even more inspired:

I’m hosting the Color Throwdown challenge this week! Our generous sponsor is Digital Delights by Louby Loo and we’re celebrating Halloween with all of our creations!!
In order to accommodate the variety of images, I’ve chosen 4 colors to work with this week. You don’t have to use all 4, but at least 3 would be great. That’s what I used.

Here’s my cute little Bat Billy:

He’s colored with Copic markers and cut out with Spellbinders petite ovals. The little bat is covered with Ranger Glossy Accents and popped up on foam tape.
You definitely should play along with us…..there are prizes and fun to be had!! Be sure to check out the challenge HERE and then head over to the designers’ blogs for more fun eye candy:

For the Color Throwdown challenge this week Tammy chose a “doozey” of a color combo! I was a little worried about how to combine all the colors, but as I was going through my MOUNDS of patterned paper, I came across some Urban Cosmos paper from Prima. Bingo! It had all the colors in it!

The Throwdown challenge is being sponsored by Gina K and Stamp TV this week! I had the privilege of using a set by Rupa Shevda called Are We There Yet?
I paper-pieced the minivan and will probably give this to my daughter when she and her family leave to drive to Disney World. Long trip = restless kids = Are we there yet?

Check out the challenge details at the Color Throwdown blog and cruise on by to see all the design team members creations here:

Today’s hostess for the Color Throwdown challenge is the lovely and super-talented LeAnne! Her color choices were a little challenging for me, but somehow the card seem to all come together just fine in the end.

I started with the CPS132 sketch and the Oh Happy Day Asian Flair stamp set from our sponsor this week – Simon Says Stamps. Just about everything is paper pieced and I only used a few Copic markers for some shading. The flowers are also from Simon Says Stamps and are called Art Flowers (cream) by Hero Arts.

I’m so glad you decided to stop by today. Please join us in the color challenge. You can get all the details at the Color Throwdown blog and find out how to win a prize from our sponsor and also how to become our next Featured Stamper. I’m sure you’ll love seeing all the beautiful design team creations here:
