2 for you new

It’s Tuesday again! My how fast the time flies….especially the weekends! I have 2 very different cards for you today and it’s my turn to give away some Rubbernecker Bucks this week! So let’s get started!

    ************

    Now for my card. It’s appropriate to have a card featuring candy when I’m offering blog candy, right?

    Trick or Treaters

    Aren’t these little guys the cutest? I’d give them lots of candy if they came to my door!

    This is a Rubbernecker image called Trick or Treats, and I colored it with Copic markers then cut it out with Nestabilities. The striped piece of paper was torn around the edges and sponged with Ranger Distress ink in Peeled Paint and my ink blending tool. Have you tried that yet? It’s fantastic for blending ink!! (Duh, Broni, thus the name!) I just had to curl up the bottom corner to let the freaky ghost peek out!

    The image was offset on an eggplant scalloped rectangle and I place a piece of PTI Plum Pudding satin ribbon in between them. The sentiment was stamped in pumpkin pie ink on white cardstock. I used Ranger Glossy Accents in a thick layer on it and placed the grungeboard O, which was colored with a YG95 Copic marker, on top of it. I coated the O with the Glossy Accents too and left it to dry. Then I trimmed around the O, and glued it to the card.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Stamps: Trick or Treats, Petite Halloween sentiment set - Rubbernecker’s Halloween section
    Paper: white, elegant eggplant, Halloween patterned paper
    Ink: Memento - Rich Cocoa, pumpkin pie, sahara sand, Ranger Distress - Peeled Paint
    Accessories: Nestabilities, Copic markers, Idea-ology mixed minis plain grungeboard, ink blending tool, PTI Plum Pudding satin ribbon, glue dots, mounting tape
    Items available at Rubbernecker Stamp Co.
    Casing Erin crop
    Hey, guess what! Lindsey will be having a sale in her store (Jacksonbelle Embellishments) beginning Friday, August 29th through Monday, September 1st, and she’s offering 15% off everything!!! Woo hoo! She’s got all the latest Inkadinkado stamps and just about every available color of the new fun Shimmerz paints.
    Our challenge from Jacksonbelle Embellishments this week is to case one of our very own designers! Let’s have a big round of applause for the featured designer this week - Erin McKinney of Stampin’ in the Sun!
    I chose this card of Erin’s to case:
    Holly Birdie - erin mckinney
    Isn’t it adorable? I kept the same layout and birdie theme, used my ribbon in the same place and used Dew Drops where she’s placed her gem brads. I did change the stamps I used and the papers and colors too.
    Here’s my CASE:
    Casing Erin
    I colored my bird image from the Birds Galore clear stamp set by Inkadinkado with Stampin’ Up markers and stamped it onto shimmery vanilla cardstock. I cut the rectangle panel using a Nestabilities die and left the die on while I sponged some celery ink aroung the edges.
    The patterned papers are Daisy D’s Chloe Marie line. Yummy paper! Would you look at that beautiful 1″ satin ribbon?! It’s by May Arts of course! I added Dew Drops (water) at the bottom.
    Check out the beautiful creations of all these talented designers:
    If you’d like to play along, post your card on SCS with the keyword JBE017.
    Thanks for visiting with me today and making it all the way through another long 2 For You Tuesday post! Check back tomorrow for my Color Throwdown #8 challenge card. We have a gorgeous color combo for you to try this week!
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Stamps: Birds Galore clear stamp set - Inkadinkado

    Paper: shimmery vanilla, regal rose, black, Daisy D’s Chloe Marie

    Ink: certainly celery, SU markers: brocade blue, old olive, cameo coral

    Accessories: rectangle Nestabilities, sponge dauber, 1″ satin May Arts ribbon, horizontal slot punch, Dew Drops - water, Cuttlebug, Swiss Dots folder, mounting tape

    2 for You Tuesdays #4 and some candy!

    2 for you new

    Here we are again - another Tuesday! Let’s go~

    RUBBERNECKER - RBC15

    ~~~
    Rosy Thoughts crop
    Are you ready for the Rubbernecker Treasure Hunt?
    All you have to do is head over to the Rubbernecker Home Page and start with the first clue. You can also read about all the details there, in case you’re new to the Treasure Hunt. So head over there, matey, and find that free rubbah!
    Today is also Rubbernecker Blogger Challenge day! Today’s challenge is a sketch. You can find it HERE and all the details for all the blogger challenges on Jeanne’s blog on this page.
    Here’s my card using the sketch and another beautiful image from Jeanne’s own stamp collection (Jeanne Streiff Collection):
    Rosy Thoughts
    The name of this stamp set is Flora & Flairs and it’s gorgeous! The images are silhouettes but you can paint, ink or color the stamp and it’s no longer just a silhouette! So versatile!
    I inked the flower with Ranger Distress tattered rose ink and dabbed the tea dye ink pad on it. Then I inked the leaves with old paper ink and dabbed the peeled paint ink pad on them. Stamped the image on blush paper and voila! A watercolored image! I cut and embossed the oval with my Nestabilties and, leaving the die on the cardstock, sponged around the edges with tea dye ink.
    The right edge of the guava layer was punched with a Martha Stewart Simple Scallop punch. I added aqua Stickles to the larger holes at each scallop edge.
    I sewed the patterned paper to the guava cardstock after sponging the edges of both pieces with brushed corduroy ink. Then I tied the guava ribbon around the layers and added another knot of kraft ribbon and a decorative pin.
    The sentiment was stamped with tea dye ink.
    You can play along too! Simply upload your card or project using Rubbernecker images and the sketch and link it to Jeanne’s blog post for today. If you post to SCS, please use the keyword code RBC15. You’ll have a chance to win the monthly drawing for a $25 Rubbernecker Bucks gift certificate!
    Kittie and I have BLOG CANDY today!!!  Leave me a comment telling me what your favorite summer beverage is, with recipes if it’s really, really good!!
    There’s also some big news and a big reveal tomorrow, so be sure to check back then!
    JACKSONBELLE EMBELLISHMENTS - JBE008
    ~~~

    Hi There Duet crop

    Today’s Jacksonbelle Embellishments challenge card is a bright one. Don’t even ask me how much I LOVE this Inkadinkado Duet stamp or the fantastic Cosmo Cricket Hello Sunshine paper! No, I said don’t ask. I’m speechless with how much I am in love with both of these, and together…oh my! It’s just a good thing the drool didn’t get all over this card!

    The challenge for today was “Anything goes!”. Whoop, whoop! I love that kind of challenge! I was just dying to use some of this paper. Every design in this collection is bright and warm and happy! Would you look at how it’s already got a decorative bottom edge! There’s almost no need for any embellishments, because it could pretty much stand on it’s own as far as an eye-pleasing element is concerned. (You can click on the photo to see a larger version.)

    Hi There Duet 2

    The bird duo is just adorable! I’ve named them Sam and Junior! I do believe that Sam is telling Junior a thing or two about what the big, bad world is like! And Junior is in awe of how much Sam knows! (Snort! I must be in my little fantasy world again!)

    There’s no need for any instructions on this card. It’s very straightforward. Coloring with Copic markers, cutting and embossing with Nestabilties, piercing, and tying knots. Nothing to it! But I love it!

    If you’d like to play along, upload a card using something from Lindsey’s shop, and use the keyword JBE008. Then link your card to Lindsey’s new store blog.

    Here are links to the other design team members so you can check out their “Anything Goes” challenge cards:

    2 challenges, a Treasure Hunt and some changes!

    Mouse Wishes crop

    Whew! Hang on to your seats! There’s a lot to talk about today!

    First of all there are some changes being made to the Rubbernecker weekly challenge. Starting today it will be combined with the Tuesday Treasure Hunt, and the rules have changed to allow for a lot more leeway in your designs and a lot more opportunities to enter for a chance to win. To check out all the details, please see this post of Jeanne’s: Rubbernecker Blogger Challenge Changes

    Today is also the Treasure Hunt at Rubberneckers. You can read all the details and find the first clue to lead you to the treasure on the Rubbernecker Home Page.

    And Kittie and I have blog candy today! To win some Rubbernecker Bucks from me, just leave me a comment and tell me what your favorite technique is.

    Now on to today’s challenge. Oooh, this is so much fun! The challenge is to use the paper piecing technique. For any of you unsure of how to do this, Jeanne has a couple of great tutorials on her blog. When you take the challenge and upload your card to the SCS gallery, be sure to add the keyword RBC11 so you can be entered in the monthly drawing to win $25 in Rubbernecker Bucks!

    I knew I wanted to play with these adorable little mice and they’re just perfect for this technique!

    Mouse Wishes blog

    I stamped these cuties 3 times on white cardstock with Ranger Distress black soot ink. I colored the first image completely with my Copic markers. On the second image, I colored and cut out the entire top of the cupcake (all but the wrapper), the mouse heads  and the cherries. From the third one, I used the frosting with the cherry on top. That’s a lot of coloring and cutting, but the result is just so darn cute! This is a large 5-1/2″ square card.

    Stamps: Mice with Cupcake (#1049SO), Make a Wish (#60-14 UP) - Rubbernecker Stamp Co.
