I’m so honored!

Marianne award

I’m so honored to have been mentioned on Marianne Walker’s blog - I Like Markers - today!  She gave me (and some others, of course) this cool award just because I comment on her blog!  How would I not comment?  She’s so very talented and her blog is so informative!  I study it religiously and I appreciate all the time and effort she puts into educating us.

And the best part…..you KNOW she designed and drew this award herself!!  How cool is that???!!!

Thank you so much, Marianne!!

So continuing in Marianne’s spirit of gratitude, I’d like to pass this award along to a few ladies who are so sweet and who regularly stop by here to leave such kind and uplifting comments.  I do appreciate each and every one of you!

  • Elena - The Redhaired Girl - She’s such a sweet and talented lady and ALWAYS leaves me a comment.
  • Danielle - Wild Dragonfly Designs A super talented lady who is also a fellow Color Throwdown hostess.
  • Janet - Life Full of Sunflowers - A fellow Carolinian who is also ultra-talented!
  • Rose Ann - Paper Delightz - We were on the DD together for only one month, but that’s all it took to find out how sweet and talented this lady is!  I’m sure you ALL already know this!
  • Susan - Stampin’ Susan - We were in Marianne’s Copic class together in Charleston, SC last year.  What fun that was!  And she has a super fun blog!!
  • Joan - Stamping With a Passion - What a gifted lady…not only is she a superb artist, she’s also so kind and giving.  And what a hoot!
  • Norine - Crafty Sister - She’s always so sweet and generous with her comments and hugs!  And she’s tirelessly providing cards to our soldiers.
  • Linda C - I don’t think Linda has a blog, but she’s always one of the first to leave a comment.  I wish I knew more about you, besides how sweet you are!

Thanks to all of you ladies and to all of you who visit me regularly.

Pass it on!

What a Sale!…..and 2 cards for you today!

Let Your Hair Down crop

Rubbernecker Stamp Co. is having a 25% sale on the new Adirondack pigment ink pads and reinkers today through next Wednesday, August 6!!! If you’ve wanted to try them, but haven’t yet, now is definitely the time to do it!

And speaking of Rubbernecker…..how about these new Cartoon images? They are so cute and hilarious and SO MUCH FUN to color! I just loved this one and made this card for my niece who is a hairdresser! She loved it and has it sitting at her station!

Let Your Hair Down

The sentiment is computer generated, then I stamped the image in Palette Hybrid Noir and colored it with my Copic markers. The cape was then covered with Star Dust Stickles! I really should have colored her hair purple, because Jaime actually has purple streaks in her hair!

When I finished with this card, I had some scraps of white and the patterned paper left over, so I thought I’d try Julia’s Ways To Use It challenge this week to use scraps. I also combined it with Jeanne’s Limited Supply challenge to make a card that would make someone smile. I guess both of these cards would qualify for that one!

Better Late crop

I just hate it when I’m late getting a birthday card out in the mail to someone or if I just forget a birthday totally! After all, I make cards, for goodness sakes! You’d think I’d have bunch just sitting around waiting to be mailed! NOT! They just seem to disappear (or get taken by my daughters, or get sent to Dave, or just walk off on their own)! So when I saw this darling little snail by Inkadinkado that Lindsey had, I knew I would probably get a lot of use out of it!

I used the scraps of patterned paper as you can see, and the snail was stamped on a scrap of white paper and cut out and embossed with a Nestabilities scallop circle die. I also stamped the little guy directly on the front of the card before attaching the scraps so I could line the snail and his trail up exactly where I wanted it and be able to add the stickles to his entire trail.

Better Late

It really is a simple card, but I think it’s so cute!

Thanks for taking time out to stop by. I’m headed off to my grandson’s birthday party. That should be wild and fun! Enjoy your weekend!

I’m so honored…

Published by bronih under awards

I’ve been awarded the Arte Y Pico (Art & More) Award by Etha of MoreGreenWool.  Thank you so much, Etha!  I am truly so honored.

artawardThis award is given to bloggers who share their art and creativity making their contribution to the blogging world.  Here are the rules:

1. You pick five blogs that you consider deserve this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also contribute to the blogging community, no matter what language.
2. Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog to be visited by everyone.
3. Each award winner has to show the award and put the name and the link to the blog that has given her or him the award itself.
4. Award-winner and the one who has given the prize have to show the link of Arte y Pico blog , so everyone will know the origin of this award.

5. Show these rules.

I really hate having to choose only 5 blogs when there are so many excellent ones out there.  I currently have 148 in my Google reader and I think they all deserve this award.  So if I’ve left a comment on your blog recently and/or you are listed in my blogroll in the left column, you know that I believe you to be deserving of this award.  Feel free to copy and paste from this post onto your own blog and consider yourself awarded!

And thanks again to Etha!!
