Welcome to the November Angels Landing Blog Hop. If you missed the beginning, head over to Judi’s digital stamps blog and follow the links. Today the Design Team is introducing two new digital image sets for November, Polar Bear Cubs and Button Bugs.
I love the wonderful, sweet expressions that Judi gives her images and this polar bear is no exception.

**ETA - For those of you asking, the cocoa mix in a cone came premixed and prepackaged. I did however find a mix recipe at the Nestle site HERE. The only thing my prepackaged mix had that’s not mentioned in the recipe is some chocolate chips layered between the cocoa and the mini marshmallows.
I decided to make a tag for this hot chocolate mix that I’ll give as a gift. I added loads of sparkle with Star Dust Stickles and also added Ranger Glossy Accents to the little cub’s eyes and nose to make them shine. The words come as one sentiment but I cut them apart to place them on the tag. As an added bonus, the tag can be removed and used as an ornament.

Your next stop on the Blog Hop is >>Cheryl’s blog<<
If you get lost along the way, check the master list on Judi’s digital stamps blog. Thanks for visiting, and I hope you’ll enjoy the rest of the hop.
And if you get a chance, you should really check out the fun Our Craft Lounge birthday bash challenges HERE!

A total of 25! At least I hope that will be enough!
This week’s challenge from Judi at Angels Landing to the design team was to create something 3″ or smaller. Little did I know that something so small could turn into such a big project! Whew!
Here are the 6 different designs:

Here they are individually:

4 of the designs were created loosely using Kazan’s Sketch 39 from the 2S4U blog. (Sorry about the “loosely” part, Kazan. It was a little hard to work in such a small space!)
Here’s a group shot of all the tags:

Please check out the other designer’s creations of 3″ or less by linking to them from the Angels Landing blog. I can’t wait to see what they come up with!
Do you have your Christmas tags or your Christmas cards finished yet? I’m still working on my cards!
Thanks so much for visiting!

This week the Angels Landing design team was challenged to finish the inside of our cards. That’s always fun!
There’s a lot of sparkle on this card and it was so much fun to make. The kitten from Ho Ho Hollydays was colored with copic markers. The grungeboard ornament was painted white with an acrylic paint dabber then coated with blue topaz glitter. Both the ornament bow and the flourish were covered with stickles, and the fur trim on the kitten’s hat is made with Sparkly Fluff.

Inside, the tiny bird’s fur trim is made with stickles and the piercing at the top of the white layer was made using one of the Faux Stitched Borders.

Here are some close ups. You can click on them to see them larger.

There’s lots more to see from the wonderfully talented design team. Please check the links our HERE. Thanks so much for stopping by to check this sparkly cutie out!

When I printed this little cardinal from the Season’s Tweetings stamp set from Angels Landing, I knew I wanted a rustic look but I also wanted the card to have a little elegance as well. That’s how I ended up coloring with Prismacolor pencils on the kraft cardstock, then mounting it on the delicate white Spellbinders Fleur de Lis die cut.
I think the patterned paper adds to the textured rustic feel and the flowing ribbon dresses it up a little too. To keep the ribbon tails in place, I coated them with a thin layer of liquid glue then pressed only certain points to the paper and allowed it to dry. This adds a little bit of stiffness to hold it in place and keep it looking pretty!

Check out what all the other design team members made this week for the “Wild Card” challenge: Angels Landing blog!

Would you just look at that precious face?? I just can’t stop looking at it and smiling! This little fella has complete stolen my heart!
He’s one of the adorable Penguin Chicks from Angels Landing. And I chose him to be on my Color Throwdown card this week. The colors that LeAnne presented us with just seemed perfect for a warm woolen hat and scarf.

The blue background layer is covered in sparkly snowflakes as is his snowy fur. The snow on his little sign is liquid pearls with a touch of glitter as well. The sheer, sparkly edged ribbon was heated just enough to crinkle the ends. He’s colored with several different shades of grey markers (and qualifies as an entry to this month’s Copic Creations challenge - coloring black with copics).

We would just love it if you would play along with us!! We don’t have a sponsor this week, but you have a chance at being chosen Featured Stamper of the week!! You can find all the details on the Color Throwdown blog and then there’s so much more inspiration here:

This week’s Angels Landing challenge for the design team was to use sewing (real or faux.) I chose to use my sewing machine…I certainly need the practice! But I got so carried away coloring the image and matching the patterned paper that I almost forgot to use sewing at all!
This is my newest favorite holiday color combo - red, aqua and brown. Bright and happy, yet warm and yummy !

I used several brown Copic markers to make the frame have a woodgrain look. The smaller brown layer and the aqua layer are dry embossed and the sewing actually attaches the Cosmo Cricket Jolly by Golly patterned paper to the larger brown layer.
All the berries and ornaments are covered in fired brick Distress stickles.
You can see all the beautiful design team creations by going to the Angels Landing blog.
Thanks for stopping by to check in today!

I chose to use 2 of the adorable Penguin Chicks for my project.
It’s getting close to Christmas. I know! It seems like we just had it, doesn’t it? Well, I’ve started making each of my daughters a December album each year for them to document the events in their household leading up to Christmas. What better time than now and what better images to use than these chicks?

~
This is very sparkly in real life. Here are a couple of close ups.
If you click on the photo of the chicks, you can see that their coats are all sparkly with snow (Ranger Distress stickles - Rock Candy).

~
To celebrate the new releases, I’m offering some Blog Candy. One lucky winner will receive free download links for his or her choice of any two image sets shown in the Digital Stamps Products section of AngelsLanding.com. To be eligible to win, leave a comment on my Blog Hop post before Sunday October 18, 2009, at 11:00 PM Eastern USA time. I’ll use random.org to pick a winner on Monday October 19. This week, Judi challenged the Angels Landing design team to make a card using Autumn colors. My new Basic Grey Indian Summer 6 x 6 paper pad immediately came to mind. I knew this little bear from the Mini Bears & Birds digi-stamp collection would be perfect. He is just adorable.

The bear was printed on cream cardstock, colored with Prismacolor pencils, and cut with a circle Nestabilities die, then framed on a die cut Dahlia flower. The small green panel at the bottom of the card was embossed in a Cuttlebug Leafy Branch folder and rubbed over with Ranger Distress Brushed Corduroy ink. The sentiment tag from the Pierced Tags set was also printed on cream cardstock and colored with Prismacolor pencils. It was tied onto the ribbon with linen thread.
Don’t you just want to cuddle this little guy?
If you head on over to the Angels Landing blog, Judi has links to all the design team’s wonderful creations.
Thanks for visiting! I hope you’ll be back soon!

This is a fun Tri-Shutter card made using directions from this tutorial.
The images are all from the beautiful Autumn Tweetings digital stamp set from Angels Landing. Several of the bird images were printed, then colored with Copic markers and cut out with either Spellbinders ovals or with scissors. The sentiment was airbrushed while still in the scalloped oval die. Several different coordinating Autumn themed papers were used to cover each section of the card to serve as backgrounds for the images. What a fun card to make!!
