It’s time for Color Throwdown #67. Tammy is our hostess-with-the-mostess this week and she’s chosen a wonderful color combination. I wasn’t sure it would work for Christmas (I am hot and heavy into creating as many Christmas cards as possible before the rush!), but then I pulled out this Snowed In paper kit from My Mind’s Eye that I got at my LSS (Southern Scrapbooks) last year. I couldn’t use the soft sky with it, but Papertrey’s aqua mist worked perfectly!
Here’s this week’s color combo:

And here’s my card based on Laura’s Sketch 38 from 2 Sketches 4 You.

Be sure to visit the Color Throwdown blog to get all the details on this week’s challenge. You could be our next Featured Stamper!! And please show some love to our super-talented design team:

Oh my goodness! How sweet is this little doll???
I have a funny story to tell you. I created this on Monday evening and was saving it to post today. Well, on Tuesday I visited Sherry’s blog and was astounded at what I found. A card using a Crafty Secrets image of a cute little girl and embellished with a handmade lace flower topped with a button! It’s even a similar layout!!
Now Sherry and I have always claimed to be long-lost sisters…we think alike in so many ways it’s really scary sometimes! But this coincidence just blew me away!! If she had used red along with her aqua and brown, I would have totally freaked out - PIMP style!!! LOL!
Now on to the card…
I made this for the 2 Sketches 4 You challenge this week - Kazan’s Sketch 36. I used a Cotton Scrap from Crafty Secrets and lots of yummy Cosmo Cricket Early Bird 6 x 6 paper. And thanks to Sherry, I now know it qualifies for the Crafty Secrets forum challenge CSSC88 at Splitcoaststampers.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!!

Welcome everyone to the Angels Landing Blog Hop. If you missed starting from the beginning, head over to Judi’s digi-stamps blog and follow the links.
Today the Design Team is introducing two new digital image sets for September, Autumn Tweetings and Ho Ho Hollydays. And I have cards for you using both!

The first is using the pumpkin and birds image from the Autumn Tweetings set. Love this! I used Prismacolor pencils to color it. I loved the idea of using extra bright colors for a fall/Thanksgiving card. This card uses Taylor’s TESC82 sketch.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now on to Christmas:
I also wanted to make a Christmas card from the new Ho Ho Hollydays set. I just couldn’t resist the precious little kitten and bird in their Santa hats! I used Kazan’s Sketch 35 from the 2 Sketches 4 You blog. And I’m not sure if you can see it too well, but the fur on both hats is sparkly and fluffy because I used Sparkly Fluff!
I love, love, love this Purr-fect Wishes stamp set! And I’ve already got 2 of my Christmas cards made! Yippee!!
I used Kazan’s Sketch #32 from 2 Sketches 4 You. (Love that blog and love that Kazan!!) The patterned paper is from the new Graphics 45 Christmas Past collection that I got in my Tim Holtz class at CHA. It’s absolutely scrumptious!! It was cut using my Bigz Top Note die. The image and mat layers were cut using my Labels Four and Classic Oval dies from Nestabilities. The image is colored with Copic markers and I applied Ranger Glossy Accents to the ornament. It’s all topped off with my absolute favorite May Arts ribbon!
Ok, it’s time for the blog candy! I’m giving away this fantastic Purr-fect Wishes stamp set~
This is just a quick post to show you my entry for last week’s 2 Sketches 4 You sketch (Laura’s #24). Love the sketch and love this little darling from Whipper Snapper! THIS is why I have this adorable little sweetie. Thanks, Shel!
Unfortunately, the card never got posted or made its way into the sketch challenge due to a certain little one’s birth last Thursday! But that’s ok. There’ll always be more sketch challenges!
Here’s the sketch:
I decided to be a little different and give her a blue bunny. It’s fun to be making little girl cards for a change! I like it!
It’s Wednesday and time for another Color Throwdown challenge. This week is LeAnne’s turn to be the hostess and she chose 3 colors that work just beautifully together - Cameo Coral, Pink Pirouette, and Sage Shadow.
I was stumped at first but ended up just loving the combination.
I needed to be able to create a quick and simple card….enter dies and embellishments! No coloring on this week’s card!
I used 2 new stamp releases from Rubbernecker Stamp Co. One is the Grid background (451) that was released last week - with 6 others- and the other is the Flower Silhouettes set being released tomorrow! I used the sentiment and frond from this set. I can’t wait for you to see these new sets!! Oh my, how I love them!!
On to my card~
Told ya! Quick and simple. Stamp the background, cut the layers with the dies, stamp the sentiment and leafy frond, sponge the edges, then throw it all together!
ETA: I got so carried away ranting and raving about the new stamp sets that I forgot to mention that this card uses Laura’s sketch 23 from the 2 Sketches 4 You blog!
Now you really need to check out the super cute creations of the CTD design team members here:
And please play along in the challenge with us! If you don’t have these colors, you can just substitute similar colors that you do have. Hey! You could be the next Featured Stamper! Check out the challenge HERE!
Thanks for visiting my blog! Check back a little later for the Wacky Wednesday challenge….I’ll be using more of the new Rubbernecker stamps to be released tomorrow!
What’s the most versatile stamp you can own??? Why a background stamp, of course! You can use it so many different ways and it can look completely different each time.
Today Rubbernecker is releasing 7, count ‘em, 7 new background stamps. Check it out HERE!!
So to celebrate, our Wacky Wednesday challenge for you is to use a background or border stamp on your card. When you upload it, link the card itself directly back to today’s post on the Rubbernecker blog.
I’ve chosen to use the Loose Weave background stamp. It just reminds me so much of spring grass that I used it on yet another Easter card! And it’s been awhile since I played along with the 2 Sketches 4 You sketch, so I incorporated that too. This week is Kazan’s sketch 23.
I’ve also used some of my new Prism papers and May Arts ribbon (available April 6) from Rubbernecker! How yummy! I’m having a great time with all these new goodies!!
You can get all the details here on this week’s challenge and how you can win a gift certificate for 25% off your next Rubbernecker order. Be sure to also follow the links to the other design team members’ blogs in order to see all the wonderful creations using the new background stamps!
Sorrowfully, I needed a sympathy card to send out today. It’s always hard to make a sympathy card, but I find is especially hard when it’s for a man. I wanted to keep it simple and somber, yet not dreary. I hope I accomplished this.
I decided to try to use Kazan’s sketch 21 for this week’s 2 Sketches 4 You challenge, and to use one of my new Stampin’ Up! sets called Thoughts & Prayers. It really is a beautiful set!
I’m going to make this a short post. I can’t tell you how thrilled I am that we’re finally getting warmer weather. It was in the upper 70’s here today! But we’re losing an hour’s worth of sleep tonight, and after spending 5 straight hours cleaning out my flower beds and trimming back all my hydrangeas, butterfly bushes, and lantana, I really need some rest (and a couple of Aleve, I’m afraid!).
Thanks for stopping by! And don’t forget you still have a couple of days to make an ATC (see mine HERE) for Rubbernecker’s Wacky Wednesday challenge. You could win one of three certificates for 25% off your entire order from the Rubbernecker website!
Here’s a different kind of card….for me anyway! But I think I really like it!
I started out with this week’s 2 Sketches 4 You sketch and threw in the Technique Lovers Challenge TLC205 at Splitcoast to use pleated paper. I took me a while to decide how to use the pleated panel, but I like how it turned out! I also wanted to use some of my new Basic Grey Granola paper (which I love!). It’s so yummy!
And there’s no coloring on this card! Hard to believe, I know!
Hope you like it!
Thanks for stopping by for a look!
I didn’t get to make a card for the 2 Sketches 4 You challenge last week, so I wanted to be sure to fit one in this week. And boy, is this just under the wire! The cut off is midnight and it’s now 10:43 p.m.! Oops, I just realized the cut off is midnight Mountain time, so I’m ok on time and I’ll just type a little slower!
I also needed a birthday card for my nephew who just turned 18 and is really into the Rock Band video game. Killing two birds with one stone is always a good thing in my book! But wait! This card also fits the criteria for the Friday Limited Supplies challenge at Splitcoast - to use a black card base! Three is even better than two!!
So here’s the card~
And here’s the inside~
Pretty cool, huh!?? I think he’ll like it.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TYLER!!!
Thanks for stopping by! Since Saturday’s almost over, I’m gonna say “Have a great new week!”
