I hope you’ve recovered from your holidays.  I’m trying to get back in the swing of things.  I don’t know if I’ll ever be happy about going back to work though!

I love this cute little Moose at Moonrise image.  I felt like water coloring this one in order to get a good mix of colors.

Moonrise Moose

Are the colors bright enough for you?  I sponged the watercolor paper edges with Distress antique linen after distressing them to tone down the white.

I stamped the small branch from the Pine Sprig set in the bottom right corner of the kiwi cardstock and used a craft knife to trim around the top edges of it.  After stamping the sprig all over the kiwi piece, I slid the watercolored image behind the cut sprigs.  I used a jumbo eyelet to attach these pieces as well as some punched Martha Stewart branches.

The tangerine cardstock is stamped all over with the Mesh background stamp and sewn randomly along the bottom.

Have a great day!  Don’t forget to play along in the FINAL TREASURE HUNT!

This is a card I’ve had in my mind for a while and really needed to get it onto paper before the holiday season is over.

Home for Christmas

Pretty simple and fairly flat for mailing.  The sentiment is computer generated (in Angelina font) and cut down into an Anna banner (love these!).

The background trees are from the Kittie Kit - The Moose is Loose and the grass is from her Master #1 set.  Love these too!

I hope you all have a truly wonderful Christmas!  Stay warm and cozy!

Non-traditional Christmas colors…

Labels One Merry Christmas crop

Well, I know I said yesterday’s post would be showing you the last of my Christmas creations, but then Shelly posed this week’s Rubbernecker Blog challenge to create a Christmas card using non-traditional Christmas colors. So I’m back with another Christmas creation.

I shamefully CASE’d this design from the very talented (and fellow SCS Dirty Girl Alumni) Amy Rohl. Her card really caught my eye and I knew I would use the layout for my own Christmas cards. Since I don’t yet have my Top Note die (it’s on it’s way now, after being backordered), I used the largest of my Labels One Nestabilities dies for the DP layer.

Labels One Merry Christmas

It’s a pretty simple card, really. It was fairly easy to mass produce. The only challenge I found was that now I have an aching shoulder from running the card bases through the Cuttlebug and the dies through the Wizard! Oh, and from punching out the snowflakes!

I wish you could see this paper in real life. All of the snowflakes are very glittery!

You’re all invited to play along in this challenge with us. Just link your completed, non-traditional colored Christmas card to today’s post on the Rubbernecker Blog . It’ll be really cool to see the color combinations!

Thanks for visiting today! Shop on!

Little Lovin’s Ornament crop

~Smiley from millan.net

Arrrr ye mateys, it’s Treasure Hunt Tuesday at Rubbernecker. Hop on over to the Rubbernecker Stamps Blog to find your first link in today’s treasure hunt!

And I’m one of the lucky ones to be offering BLOG CANDY today! You don’t even have to answer any questions this week. Just leave a comment on this post and I’ll let the random generator choose a winner on Wednesday morning.

Our Design Team, as always, will delight you with their creations. Head over to the Rubbernecker Blog to catch the links and find out who else has the BLOG CANDY!!

The big winter clearance sale is still going on over at Rubbernecker’s too! Don’t miss out!

Little Lovin’s Ornament

I used the tutorial at Splitcoaststampers to make this clear glass ornament. I only did a couple of things differently. I used my Adirondack paint dabber in snow cap to dab on the back of the acetate after coloring the penguin. Doesn’t he have the funniest expression on his face? I also added beads to the snow inside the ornament. I know you can’t see them in this photo, but they ARE there. I made 7 of these - 6 for all the grandkids (mine and George’s) and 1 for me!

JACKSONBELLE EMBELLISHMENTS - JBE 033

~~

Shimmery Snowy Jo crop

Not only is this the last Christmas creation this year, it’s also the last creation I’ll be making as a member of the Jacksonbelle Embellishments Design Team. It’s been a wonderful experience and I’ve absolutely loved getting to know all my talented, funny and creative teammates. I’m going to try to slow down the pace of my life and concentrate more on my grandkids and my aging Mom. A huge thank you goes out to Lindsey, Lynda and the whole team who have been such a joy to work with.

Shimmery Snowy Jo

This week’s challenge is a sketch. And I wanted to use this fun Fancy Pants - Happy Holidays paper one more time this year. I just realized that Snowy Jo looks dirty in the photo!! He’s not actually. He’s been painted with Angel Wings Shimmerz and he’s very beautifully shiny IRL!!

I used my Stampin’ Up! classy brass Priceless template for the snow flourish behind Snowy Jo. I used my BG10 Copic marker to paint along the flourish and behind the sentiment. I also painted both of these with the Shimmerz as well.

Be sure to check out the beautiful creations of this year’s last Jacksonbelle Embellishments DT challenge here:

Have a great day! See you soon!

Vintage Joy Bird - Color Throwdown #23

Joy Bird crop

The uber-talented Kim Crawford is our hostess this week for the Color Throwdown challenge. And she chose a gorgeous combination of colors….just right for the holiday season! By the way, folks, this is the last color challenge for this year. We’re taking a break for the holidays, but will be back with more super challenges after the first of the new year.

I decided to watercolor this wonderful bird image from the Vintage Birds set from Pink Poison. It’s all Joan’s fault! After seeing her card made with the birds, I HAD to have the set! Oh, and don’t laugh at my feeble attempt at a Kittie bow!
