Triple Challenge card!
There were so many challenges at Splitcoast that I wanted to try this week and just couldn’t seem to find the time. AND, I’d been admiring everyone’s Mother’s Day cards thinking “They sure are making them early.” THEN I had a light bulb moment – NEXT WEEKEND is Mother’s Day!! OMG!!! That meant I had to get busy!
So after doing some housework and yard work this morning, I sat down in my dining/craft room and pondered. It hurt. Just kidding (not really)!
I finally came up with this triple challenge card.
I started with an 8 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ piece of black cardstock. I folded it in half, then folded the front in half diagonally toward the bottom left of the card and taped that down. I added strips of soft sky DSP to that and stamped one of the flowers from Garden Silhouette in the corner.
Then I added the scalloped layered circles. Again, the soft sky DSP was stamped with another flower from the same set and also with the word Cherish from Warm Words, which is embossed with black EP. I attached a Basic Grey magnetic snap to the back of the scallop circle.
When the front of the card is opened…
you can see that again I stamped the soft sky DSP with yet another flower from Garden Silhouettes. I also used the word lovely from the same set. This piece was attached to a 4″ x 8 1/4″ piece of textured pomegranate, which is folded in half and attached to the inside of the black card. Then I tied my satin pomegranate ribbon around this layer.
When this layer is lifted…
there is another piece of the soft sky DSP – these are all random patterns, not the same. I used my computer to print Mother’s Day in Scriptina font, then stamped the word Happy from the Papertrey Ink set Paper Tray. Finally I stamped the 4th flower from Garden Silhouettes in going gray ink. The other half of the Basic Grey magnetic snap is attached between the soft sky layer and the pomegranate layer.
So, which challenges did this card qualify for?
- TLC166 – Two Way Open card
- CC164 – basic black, purely pomegranate, soft sky
- LSC166 – use only circle punches or dies and any embellishments
AND I’ve finished my Mother’s Day card!!!! Don’t you love it when everything comes together?!
Thanks so much for stopping back by to visit! Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
