It’s All About the Presents

All About the Presents crop

Isn’t this a great sentiment for a birthday card??  Or for any occasion for that matter when you want to add a little humor.  I just love it, and I love the cute images in this stamp set from CC Designs.  I got them in my last order from All That Scraps.  And it’s all Michele’s fault!!!

I needed a birthday card for my son-in-law.  I know this may seem like a juvenile image – the little dog with gifts – but when you add in that sentiment and use the right colors, it totally works for a masculine card!

All About the Presents

I used Jen’s SFYTT sketch for this week.  It’s a great one and probably one I’ll come back to time and again.

The papers are all from the Basic Grey Blush collection.  I sewed the colored image layer to a piece of ruby red cardstock, and I also sewed a zig zag line down the middle of the brown strip just to add some texture and interest.

I wanted to dress up the envelope a little so I stamped the cupcake image from the same stamp set in the bottom left front corner and colored it with Copic markers.  Then I spritzed some close to cocoa, ruby red and tempting turquoise around the cupcake.

So, what do you think he’ll say when he reads this sentiment and then finds out there’s no present???

Ha, I’m just kidding!  But that’s what he’ll think, because I’ll wait until later to give him the gift!  And that’s ok because he and I do this to each other all the time!

I hope you have a lovely day!!

Don’t know what I am doing but when I receive your emails the font looks like it’s about an 8 – and these eyes or getting older by the minute. None of the other blogs I subscribe to has this problem. Anybody have a solution for me. I want to see it ALL.

You are so right about the sentiment- I love it and it does add a nice touch of humour to “grow-up” the image a bit. You did such an incredible job with that cute little dog!
