Let the Cute Begin – WT159

We know a couple who is expecting their first child – a boy, Taylor – any day now.  In fact, he was due to arrive Monday, but we’re still waiting.  I’m so excited to meet him! His mom is an SU customer of my upline’s upline and both his parents are paddling buddies of mine. We’re all trying to be patient awaiting his arrival, but it’s just not easy! This is the card I made to welcome him to the world.

I decided to use mostly SU products, and the Big on Spring set is one of the cutest stamps sets I think I’ve seen in a long time. Especially this particular stamp. I just love the adorable onsie and I especially love what it says. How sweet! I also love the new Take a Number wheel. I see so many possibilities for it!

Let the Cute Begin

I wanted to try to find a “different” color combination for a baby boy. Not the typical baby blue or primary colors. This was inspired by all the precious baby cards my friend Michele has made using atypical colors and papers. She is a true paper-crafting wizard!!

The image was stamped three times on watercolor paper and painted using SU markers and a waterbrush.  I spritzed my image panel using my SU Color Spritzer and the pale plum marker and then sponged the rounded edges with a sponge dauber and pale plum ink.

The onsie was attached with mounting tape and the tiny glittered heart is the third layer.

My pale plum layer was stamped in the same color ink with a tiny dotted swirl from the Fiskars Baby clear stamps and was cut with my Nestabilities scallop rectangle dies. I used a clear Spica Glitter pen (which I won as part of a blog candy package from StamperSharon – thanks, Sharon!) to outline the embossed edge.

I think that’s it! Thanks so much for stopping by to visit! Have a great day!
