River Rock Sympathy - CC155

Published by bronih at 9:39 am under Card Designs, Challenges, Splitcoaststampers, Stampin' Up!

I just found out today that one of my Mom’s friend’s husband died yesterday.  I won’t be able to go to the funeral because of the travel distance, but I definitely wanted to send her a card.  This week’s color combination challenge CC155 on Splitcoaststampers to use white, black and river rock was perfect.  These colors are very crisp, yet subtle and very elegant looking together.

River Rock Sympathy

I chose to use Garden Silhouettes and one of the sentiments from Small Sayings, both from Stampin’ Up!  I stamped the branch in Versamark and embossed it with black EP.  I then sponged over it with River Rock ink.  I added a black circle, 2 flowers with jewel brads, and a ribbon with a decorative pin.  Simple, flat enough to mail, yet pretty enough to let her know how much I care.

Thanks for visiting.

This is very elegant and beautiful. I too have to do a couple of sympathy cards and will certainly use this Broni.
We are at an age, I guess, that our parent’s friends are now dying.
    Thank you for sharing.
