It’s TREASURE HUNT TUESDAY @ RUBBERNECKER! The Treasure if you find it, will be a free image. However, to receive the Treasure a purchase of any size is required. There will be 20 Treasures given away and the hunt will begin at 9:00 AM PST (12:00 Noon here in EST time zone) and will end at 8:00 PM PST (11:00 PM EST) on Tuesday, Jan 8th.

You will definitely want to check back here tomorrow when I’ll have the link for you to follow for the first clue to lead you on your Treasure Hunt.

Rubbernecker has also announced that beginning January 7, they will begin giving away one FREE stamp for every $50 in stamps purchased. You can check out more information on the Rubbernecker Home Page.

This is my latest card made with a Rubbernecker image.  It’s also my blog banner!  Maybe you could tell from my blog title that I love to watercolor!  And there’s nothing more fun to color than a beautiful tropical flower like this Grand Hibiscus.  This card was made for the Featured Stamper challenge on Splitcoaststampers.com.  The featured artist this week is Nancy Riley (stampinat6213) of iStamp and here is her card that inspired me.  I kept the floral theme and used similar colors, but flipped the card to a horizontal layout to fit my image better.  I stamped the flower 3 times, masking the middle one before I stamped the other 2.  I used Ranger Distress inks and my waterbrush to paint the flowers.  I just LOVE the rich colors of the Distress inks.  The edges were sponged and then the card was assembled.

grand-hibiscus-rn-small.jpgStamps: Stamps: Grand Hibiscus – Rubbernecker in the Sunny Days section

Paper: watercolor paper, pumpkin pie, river rock DSP, Rustic Small Floral – The Paper Studio

Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Ranger Distress inks: Spiced Marmalade, Fired Brick, Scattered Straw, Peeled Paint

Accessories: waterbrush, ticket corner punch, sponge, ribbon, mounting tape

That is a piece of art!!! I LOVE how you colored the flowers, and really like that you do the waterbrush-distress ink thing, I love doing that too. My fav is the fired brick, you can get a million different shades of red from that one 🙂
